Penedes: The region of Penedes is considered to be one of the most important wine-growing region in Catalonia due to the quantity and quality of its wines and Cava's. The most well known vineyards are Torres, Freixnet and Codorniu. Its ideal location and temperate climate provides the basis on which a wide variety of grapes and quality wines are produced. The region is particularly well known for its aromatic young white wines, dry white wines, soft rose, and full bodied red wines, plus a number of brandies distilled from fermented fruit juice called Misteles.
