Medieval Villages

Discover the Romanesque & Gothic buildings on the Costa Brava on the full day Medieval Villages Tour. The tour starts with a visit to the little village of Pals. Perched on top of a hill Pals has commanding views of the surrounding countryside. Records date back to the 9th century and much of its history is still evident today. You will have the opportunity to explore the village with your guide and visit the Tower of Hours, the church of Sant Pere or the Pedró lookout point and stop at some of the little shops selling colourful locally made ceramics. Then onto the village of Peratallada a few kilometres down the road.  Your guide will take you to the castle, the Roman keep and the main square where you learn about the history and culture of Peratallada.

We stop for lunch in a local restaurant were you can enjoy a three course meal with some of the local wines.

In the afternoon we make our way to The Castle of Gala Dali once the residence of Dali's wife 'Gala' in the early 1970's and where Salvador Dali's lived in the 1980s. Inside the Gala Dalí Castle House Museum you will find paintings and drawings Dalí gave Gala to adorn the castle, elephant sculptures Dalí for the garden, a collection of Gala's haute couture dresses and sculptures Gala and Dalí used to decorate the castle.

The tour finishes in the town La Bisbal d'Empordà the largest town in the area renowned for its ceramics and pottery where you will have a chance to browse the pottery shops and visit its medieval centre.
